Hotels in Development – Opening 2027

Set to be the city's largest hotel, the flagship JW Marriott Detroit is under development at the site of the former Joe Louis Arena. The massive 600-room, 25-story hotel will include 50,000 square feet of event and meeting space, as well as restaurants and a bar. A skybridge connection to neighbouring Huntington Place convention centre means that Detroit will become that much more sought after for hosting large-scale events – and the hotel itself is anticipated to generate $100 million per year.

Recently announced is the Detroit Edition, part of Bedrock's $1.4billion development, this will be the city's first five-star hotel and will occupy 45 floors within the legendary Hudson's site. With over 16,000 square feet of event space planned, as well as a pool, restaurants, fitness centre, and more, this development is set to be a landmark development.

Another addition to the skyline, is the NoMad Hotel (180 rooms) Detroit, set to open in 2027. Located on the top floors of the restored Michigan Central Station, No Mad will bring boutique luxury and architectural flair to Detroit's evolving high-end offering.

From boutique gems in downtown's cultural heart to major global brands catering to group travel and luxury stays, Detroit's hospitality renaissance offers tour operators a refreshed portfolio of accommodation in a thriving city.
